Training Dogs And Their People
We are extremely proud of the success rate of our Charleston dog training programs. There are many factors contributing to our success: reward-based methods, a compassionate and skilled trainer, zero time limits when it comes to the training, and having relationships with our network Canine Trade Group and the veterinary community. But one of the biggest reasons our dogs become behaviorally balanced is because of their committed owners.
When clients call us for dog training help, we schedule an initial in-home consultation so that we can assess the dog and their situation, but we also use the opportunity to assess the client. We aim to help every dog, but if the owner is not committed to doing the work to get the results they need for the dog, then it’s a waste of time for everyone involved. Luckily, our client base is almost always filled with dog owners that want to do ANYTHING they can to help their dog find behavioral balance. Once our consultation is over, and we agree to move forward, that is when training can begin for the dog, and for the owner!
One of our mottos is that we train dogs and their people. Training owners increases the chances of success for the dog and their family. We certainly don’t doubt that our trainer can board a client’s dog and train it into the perfect dog, but it seems pointless to do so if the dog’s own person cannot show that leadership and communication skills. If the owner cannot be consistent with the training, then the dog is at risk to revert back to inappropriate behaviors and habits.
Not only will training the owner make the dog more successful, it also cements the bond between owner and dog, just ask our good friend and dog trainer in Boston. When the dog sees the owner has control and is positively showing them how to be a behaviorally successful dog, the trust and respect between the two will build. From our experience of training dog owners in our dog training programs, the owners develop more confidence in their handling abilities, and in themselves as leaders. It’s a win-win for everyone, and leads to quicker and permanent success!
When you enroll in our dog training programs, it will be totally hands on. Our trainer will guide you on all the necessary steps you need to take to be a leader and to bring success for you and your dog.
